“I think probably everyone is lonely. I mean, sometimes I feel SO lonely and get this weird urge to like, eat a person. Do you know what I mean?”

Joanie can't be near people. A rare and dangerous illness makes her a threat to everyone she meets. So for her safety, and the safety of the entire world, she has been sent far away to an unoccupied planet on the outer reaches of space. Isolation was supposed to be a good thing, but after endless hours of solitude, Joanie is forced to confront something far worse than her illness - herself. Can she survive out here alone? Can she find a way to contact Earth? And, perhaps most importantly, is she really alone at all? An entertaining space exploration of friendship and loneliness.

PEBBLES was first performed at the Katzpace in October 2017 in a sold out run to rave four star reviews.

"Lidless Theatre's Pebbles grabs this baton and runs with it, using outer space as a metaphor for isolation, loneliness and self-loathing...Sanders' script is polished to a mirror sheen, bundling up a load of complex emotions." - London City Nights ★★★★

"Joanie and Bryon play off one another as chalk and cheese, with hilarious results. Both Charlotte Beaumont and Bebe Sanders as Bryon and Joanie are pitch perfect in their respective roles, keeping the laughs coming as optimist versus cynic." - London Pub Theatres ★★★★

“Sanders confidently drove the story, transitioning from being controlled and restrained into a delightful emotional mess” - Thespyinthestalls ★★★★

Lidless Theatre is excited to take PEBBLES to the Adelaide Theatre Festival in January 2019.
